WALCOTT SUBBED ON DURING NORWICH DEFEAT

Experienced Southampton winger Theo Walcott was only named as a substitute as Norwich City stunned his team to record back-to-back wins for the first time this season. Theo Walcott was a second half substitute as hosts Norwich City came from a goal down to beat Southampton 2-1 thereby moving off the foot of the table as far as the Premier League is concerned.

Scotland international Che Adams scored the opening goal of the game in the fourth minute off the assist from strike partner Adam Armstrong to give Southampton a fantastic start, but the lead lasted for just three minutes after Finland national team hitman TeemuPukki levelled matters for the home side via a header off the cross from Max Aarons, the Norwich City right-back. Two teams scored a goal apiece in the first seven minutes of the game and that was how it stayed until the half-time break.

England international Walcott has not been a regular in the Saints starting XI on the Premier League scene this season and he came on for the aforementioned Adams a little over the hour mark as Southampton searched for the three points. Theo Walcott has now played six times in the league this season and four of those six games have been as a substitute off the bench in the second half.

Walcott was on the pitch when Norwich City took the lead for the first time in the game on 79 minutes through Scotland national team central defender Grant Hanley via a header off the header from Chelsea loanee Billy Gilmour. Scotland player Gilmour is on loan at Norwich City from West London giants Chelsea. Theo Walcott had the chance to snatch a late point via a header but he could not keep it down as Norwich City held on to take three points for the second Premier League game in a row.
