English Premier League side, Arsenal FC are reported to be interested in Lucas Vazquez from Real Madrid.
The player is widely believed to the replacement for struggling winger Theo Walcott at the emirates. Though Walcott is by no means a poor player, the ex-Southampton starlet still hasn’t really progressed to any great degree in North London despite his bright start in England.
The very pacy winger is believed to have raised concerns from head coach, Arsene Wenger as he hopes to strengthen his squad ahead of next season, after the clamour for his replacement gather weigh in light of his trophy less run. With Theo too easily knocked off of the ball despite regular weight sessions in the gym, the Frenchman might be well advised to look for a player with a bit more. This is where Real Madrid’s Lucas Vazquez has emerged as a genuine contender.
Vazquez can also get through some of the dirty work as well as some of the more refined aspects of the game. The player is also young and performing at Madrid. The 24-year-old has had something of a breakout season at Real thanks to injuries to the ‘BBC’ of Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo. His run of games in top flight football has improved his confidence and his game has developed considerably.
The player also has other attributes that is endearing him to his fans. These include his power with the ball, his pace, desire for victory and eye for goal. The efforts in the latter part of this season at the Santiago Bernabeu have kept them in the title race. He also did well in the knock out stages of the UEFA Champions League like in the game against Manchester City where he did a brilliant tackle on Raheem Sterling. If Arsenal can win the player over, Walcott will likely lose his position in the squad.
