Everton fans have taken to social media platform Twitter, to give their reaction to the performance of Theo Walcott in their 1-3 lost against Wolverhampton Wanderers at home on Saturday afternoon. Walcott featured for Everton against Wolves in the Premier League game at Goodison Park. The 29-year-old former Arsenal forward started the game and played for 60 minutes.
It was a performance that left Everton fansgenerally furious with the below par performance from several of their first-team players. Once again, much of the ire was directed toward Theo Walcott and with good reason. The England international was largely an anonymous figure for the Toffees and failed to make any major impact for Marco Silva’s side. According to WhoScored, Walcott took one shot which was on target, had a pass accuracy of 78.6%, won one header and had 25 touches.
Everton fans however, were less than impressed. Walcott missed a great chance in the first-half, which had fans disappointed but after that he had nearly zero contribution toward the game.In the second half of the encounter, a black cat found its way to the field of play, and some Everton fans have criticised Walcott’s performance against Wolves on Twitter by stating that the cat did more running than the 29-year-old.Everton fans were equally annoyed with Silva for playing the winger, when he has had little impact for the club for a number of months now.
Wolves are a good team and their win atGoodison Park should not come as a surprise, but the way Everton failed to impose themselves on the game and could not really trouble the Wanderers consistently over the 90 minutes will be a concern.
